I received a message from Dr. Damon Smith that the 3rd year Lemberger vines in his vineyard are crashing.  They came out with leaves and shoots but are now wilting.  This indicates some severe damage and they may not survive.  Other reports of trunk splitting are coming from around the state.  Keep an eye out for this, as crown gall will surely follow in some vineyards.  Just because your vines look like they are making it right now does not mean that once the temperatures rise and the fruit is set that they won’t start crashing.  Rough waters ahead….
