I had a good Thanksgiving break and trust that you all did as well.  When I was in Missouri last weekend I picked up a bottle of 2005 Norton from St. James.    Some folks don’t like the taste of American or hybrid grapes.  To me it tastes like America, a strong, complex flavor that lingers.  I find that many of the vinifera wines I buy are unexciting.  They are certainly drinkable and in many cases good wines, but it is nothing new.  While in Missouri I also purchased some various wines like Chambourcin, Traminette, and hybrid blends.  They all may not be good, but they will be different — and they will represent our country.  I guess I am thankful to have the opportunity to grow American vines and experience American wines.
