I was all set to write about weed control in the vineyard when I came in this morning, but when I read my email that changed.  One of my professors at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Teddy Morelock passed away this weekend.  He was a great teacher, researcher, and mentor.  He was a spinach and cowpea breeder — one of the preeminent in that field in the world.  The last time I saw him was in early February at the Southern Region of the American Society for Horticultural Science meeting in Atlanta.  He was a humble guy who never flaunted himself for any accolades, yet he was awarded the distinguished researcher award this year.  I guess we never know when our time will be up.  He will be missed.
